Particularly when crossing the Wiesen Viaduct – a single-track, six-arch, curved limestone railway viaduct. The highest bridge on the Rhaetian Railway offers 88.9 meters (291 ft) of grandeur and is one of Switzerland's most impressive viaducts.
Forming part of the Davos-Filisur railway section of the Glacier Express line, the train sweeps majestically across the viaduct and over the rugged Wiesen Valley.
For those who love a historic train ride, the cult locomotive "Crocodile" is another way to enjoy the Wiesen Viaduct. The vintage, wooden open carriages of the "Crocodile" chug along twice daily from Davos Platz up the wildly romantic Zugenschlucht Gorge to Filisur.
Alternatively, to appreciate this Swiss journey in all its glory, jump aboard the Choo Choo train—an all-terrain ride that takes you along the road to the optimal vantage point near Filisur. Photo opportunities are aplenty.
