Albula Valley
Also three-kilometers long, the Skateline created for skaters every winter in Surava is an unique attraction which came about as the result of coincidence.
Once a cross-country ski trail, after a skier complained the trail was too icy and difficult to negotiate with skis, trail designer Giorgio Bossi decided to transform the trail into a unique ice-skating track enabling visitors to explore the wintery forest with skates on their feet.
A popular destination among families as well as sports enthusiasts visiting alone or with their local clubs, the wonderous trail is open from mid December until March.
Visit during the day or try an evening skate through the forest after a days skiing. The trail is open until 9 pm, except on Sundays (5:30 pm). To maintain the forest's evening atmosphere, the trail is not lit. Instead skaters are equipped with headlamps.
