The new Light Ride night sledding experience in Lenzerheide is not for the faint-hearted and it is certainly no ordinary sledding run! As you whiz downhill, multisensory light installations and music accompany your every turn.
Stay focused as you dodge LED light obstacles, gain bonus credits, whiz through tunnels and navigate an epic journey of thrills. It’s Mario Kart in the Swiss mountains!
Up to four riders start side by side, all aiming to reach the home stretch first. But it’s not just speed that counts. Rather, you have to avoid obstacles and collect points at each stage of the course!
As soon as the countdown light turns from red to green the timing begins for each individual rider. Clap hands with an enlarged hand to win points, whiz through the lights and music of the ‘milky way’ , catch bonus points and skilfully avoid LED icons projected over the course. A speed check encourages you to go as fast as you can with the speed reached deducted from your total time in seconds. Take care at the hairpin bend! The light installation will show you the way before you ride through the legendary light tunnel, a fascinating art installation with the sounds of engines rumbling in the background. Cross the finish line in the final sprint and don't forget to smile for the camera!
Operating every Wednesday and Saturday from 28 December 2022 to 18 March 2023. The Light Ride is located at the lower end of the Scharmoin-Canols sled run.
