Once a year, cows are herded down from the mountains after grazing among the summer's green pastures. The festively decorated animals are accompanied by farmers and herders in a traditional parade. Visitors come from all over the world to experience this —a cattle-drive vacation at its finest!
After the festive cattle-drive, the parade ends with a celebration of music, games and a good old session of ‘knees up mother brown’ with the town folk.
Watch for the cow leading the descent—adorned with the largest bell and the most beautiful of floral decorations—she who yielded the most milk during the summer, and thus, titled the "Miseriera".
